OREANDA-NEWS. The matter in question is development of Armadillo oilfield in this South American country. The relevant contract for provision of services was signed on February 10 between Ecuadorian Petroamazonas state oil company and JSC Ecuaservoil consortium, which was established in 2014 by Belorusneft as the major shareholder and Ecuadorian Edinpetrol engineering company.

The Armadillo oilfield is part of the block No.55 located in the eastern province of Napo. Oil production started here in 1997, then it was halted after two years of operation, and last year it was resumed.

The contract period is 15 years. After the transfer of assets to Ecuaservoil consortium, oil production will be carried out using Belarusian technologies.

Using secondary and tertiary EOR methods, Belarusian specialists expect oil production to increase significantly in the nearest future. Special integrated services also include optimization of production, exploration, drilling and workover. Thus, this new oil production project will promote the activities of Belorusneft oilfield service divisions abroad.

As Petroamazonas CEO Osvaldo Madrid said while signing the contract, when choosing a partner company the preference was given to Belorusneft for having modern technologies, which guarantee ecosystems preservation in the operating areas.
