OREANDA-NEWS. On February 10 MRO center Ural Aviation Services completed its first C-check of a UTair Boeing 737 aircraft at its facility at Ufa International Airport. The Ural Aviation Services is the third MRO center in Russia to be certified for this type of service.

“This is an important milestone not only for UTair Group, but for the whole Volga Federal District and Bashkortostan Region,” said Ural Aviation Services General Director and UTair Regional Director in Ufa Dmitry Toporov. “Realizing a new service opportunity allows us to create additional jobs, implement advanced technologies and significantly modernize our operational capabilities at the Ufa airport. We are now ready to offer airlines a wider range of maintenance services for the Boeing 737 aircraft family, including the C-check, a heavy form of maintenance.”

Dmitry Toporov also emphasized the integral relevance of maintenance services and the strong demand for them in current market conditions. Today, as operational costs for Russian airlines increase due to the decline of the ruble, performing maintenance, especially the more expensive types such as the C-check, at Russian MRO service enterprises offers significant costs savings while maintaining a high standard in quality for the services provided. “We are sure that these types of works will be in high demand not only from UTair Group, our main customer, but from other airlines that have Boeing family aircraft in their fleets,” concluded Mr Toporov.

The C-check is a heavy form of maintenance that involves a near complete testing of all aircraft systems, load-bearing aircraft components and the engines. C-check maintenance is performed every 15 months or 4,000 flight hours.
