OREANDA-NEWS. E.ON has expanded its venture capital activities by becoming an investor in Space-Time Insight. Based in San Mateo, California, Space-Time Insight develops real-time visual analytics applications that enable companies to respond rapidly to dynamically changing markets and operating conditions. E.ON will use Space-Time Insight’s products primarily for its retail and smart metering businesses.

The two partners will start by working together to develop a software solution that will reduce the error rate on the data acquired from smart meters.

“Our partnership with Space-Time Insight is a great fit with our previous co-investments, which range from smart home solutions and custom-tailored home energy management systems to a variety of solar projects. Space-Time Insight’s software solution will enable us to further enhance the efficiency of our asset operation and management” said Susana Quintana-Plaza, Senior Vice President for Technology & Innovation at E.ON.

E.ON has acquired stakes in ten start-ups in the United States and Europe.
