OREANDA-NEWS. After three or four years, the world car market will overcome the 100 millionth mark. These figures were showed in the report of the Director of AUTOSTAT, Sergey Tselikov, who opened the Moscow conference "Automotive market of Russia - results and forecasts" yesterday.

According to the agency AUTOSTAT and the company focus2move, in 2014 in the world it was sold 87.0 million (+ 3.4%) of new cars and light commercial vehicles. Russia, which sold 2,491,000 (-10.3%) – is in the eighth place in the world, it has 2.9% of the global car market.

Experts have calculated that in eight years, from 2006 to 2014 the global car market grew by 26%. Based on their assessment, if there are no global changes in the world and the current trend continues, the global car market will overcome the 100 millionth mark in 3-4 years.
