OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on the extension of the scrappage program for 2015. Also as a part of the anti-crisis plan it was allocated 3 billion Rubles for co-financing with the regions of purchases of vehicles that run on gas fuel, said the agency "Interfax".

According to Mr.Medvedev, the scrapping program of old cars proved already twice its effectiveness; it supported sales of those businesses that assemble their cars in Russia. "It makes sense to help this year - to support the industry in this area it is planned to allocate subsidies; the money will be used for compensation of costs for the purchase of new cars. In some cases, especially in the budget segment, it's quite significant percentage of the costs when you buy a new car", - said the head of the Russian government.

Earlier, the head of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, said that the program will be allocated at least 5 billion Rubles. He also noted that the current program goes "not as fast as it was expected," and part of the funds, earmarked for its financing, will go to April. "So, I think, additional funds will be required only in May," – said the minister, noting that the decision about the renewal will depend on the results of the current program. As director of the department of transport and special mechanical engineering department, Alexander Morozov, said for 2 months of the program it was sold about 30 thousand cars. Initially, it was allocated 10 billion Rubles for the program.

From April 1st, the government also plans to launch the program of preferential car loan. According to forecasts of Ministry of Industry and Trade, car sales within the program before the end of the year will be 200 thousand units, "which will provide at least 10% of all sales in the Russian market for new cars in 2015".
