OREANDA-NEWS. Urtuysky coal mine hosted a meeting on further development of the deposit, chaired by Vladimir Verkhovtsev. Coal seam block model developed by VNIPIpromtekhnologii (engineering center of ARMZ Uranium Holding) was adopted as a basis for planning further operations. According to the director of mining department Vyacheslav Koshevoy, the model will optimize development by speeding up stripping and mining operations and reducing costs. Also the decision to acquire a new crushing plant was approved.

General Director of ARMZ Uranium Holding examined preliminary results of testing new types of lining at 5th and 6th horizons of underground uranium mine No. 8. Shaft men of Shaft Sinking Department working on 6th horizon started using Swellex rock bolts. At the same time, the next testing stage of steel friction lining, produced by PIMCU Repair and Engineering Works was successfully completed. Supporting nets with KRA16 anchors are used on 5th horizon. According to foreman Igor Yakovlev, their installation is less time consuming, while providing the necessary level of operational safety. All teams use temporary safety canopy during blasting and tunneling works.

"It is understandable that more advanced and durable lining is more expensive. But our main task is to improve safety of mining operations. This problem needs to be addressed in the first place, "- said Vladimir Verkhovtsev.

At Hydrometallurgical Plant, the progress on the project "Modernization of pre-treatment ore preparation circuit" was discussed. Concentrate recrushing facility of x-ray ore dressing plant is under construction, with production capacity of 1.5 million tons of ore per year. The main objective of the project is to improve efficiency and reduce costs for ore preparation, leaching and sorption. General Director of ARMZ Uranium Holding noted that project activities are implemented in accordance with schedule.

On March 26, Vladimir Verkhovtsev continue its work in Krasnokamensk, in anticipation of arrival of Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District Nikolai Rogozhkin, who is going to visit the city and the largest uranium mining company in Russia. He will be accompanied by the Governor of Zabaykalsky Krai Konstantin Ilkovsky and other officials. The head of the mining arm of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom will present investment projects and PJSC PIMCU diversification projects, including construction of mine No. 6, cement plant, pyrite cinders processing plant and others.
