OREANDA-NEWS. ITV today announced that SSE and Land Rover are to be official sponsorship partners of ITV’s coverage of the 2015 Rugby World Cup - primarily taking place in England between 18 September and 31 October.

ITV will broadcast live coverage of every match from the tournament on its channels as well as highlights and clips packages on television, online and mobile with SSE and Land Rover as exclusive joint sponsorship partners across all ITV platforms.

Stephen Knight, Chief Marketing Officer and Group Marketing Director, SSE, said: “As a leading supplier of energy, we’re proud to power the passions of our customers and be part of the energy, drama and excitement that will be a core part of ITV’s coverage of the 2015 Rugby World Cup. We will be working closely with ITV throughout the partnership to help build excitement ahead of and throughout the tournament.  With a solid history in sponsoring and supporting grassroots rugby throughout the UK, SSE is looking forward to energising people’s support of the game whether someone is an avid rugby fan or new to the sport.”

Simon Daglish, Deputy Managing Director Commercial at ITV, said: “ITV has a long association with the Rugby World Cup having broadcast the tournament since 1991, and we are delighted to be broadcasting the highly-anticipated 2015 tournament taking place on home soil. We are very excited to welcome Land Rover and SSE on board as official partners across ITV’s coverage of the tournament and are looking forward to working with them to bring their brands to life across our platforms.”

Following our successful sponsorship of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, our SSE Next Generation athlete ambassadors and our current community partnership with the WRU, SSE is well placed to sponsor ITV’s coverage of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
