OREANDA-NEWS. The Prime Minister emphasized that he would offer to apply this practice to the insulation of houses, the installation of new windows and energy modernization: "Compensation from the State Budget will be 30% to 40% of the cost of purchased insulation materials".

He reminded that German Chancellor Angela Merkel had agreed to grant to Ukraine EUR 500 million "as an extended long-term loan, with 300 million out of the sum intended to be spent to insulate buildings and modernize Ukrainian district heating companies”.

Besides, the modernization of the Ukrainian district heating companies will be funded by the government of the Republic of Poland.

Concerning forming gas tariffs, he noted that it was not the responsibility of “the Government, the President but that of an independent regulator - the National Energy Regulation and Utilities Commission".

According to the NERC calculations, a real gas tariff now is UAH 9600 per 1 thousand cubic meters: "It’s the current price for the industry".

At this, the Prime Minister accentuated the tariff for the population consumption not exceeding 200 cubic meters of gas per month is UAH 3600 – threefold from the real value of natural gas calculated by the NERC.

He stressed that the number of the citizens consuming up to 200 cubic meters of gas, and therefore paying the price at UAH 3600 per thousand cubic meters – makes up almost 80%.

Apart from that, Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that the Government had introduced a broad subsidy programme and simplified at most the process of obtaining it.

The Prime Minister informed that to finance the subsidies the State Budget contained UAH 24.5 billion. He noted that presently this program covers about 1.2 million families: "We expect after the tariff increase this number will raise up to 3 million families. We have calculated it that way to have enough money for subsidies for 15 million citizens."

"If we see that we lack funds, we will definitely find the resource in the State Budget", stressed Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
