OREANDA-NEWS. As a result of the difficult situation on the Russian car market it may close about 1,000 dealerships and about 100,000 people will lose their jobs. It was reported by Oleg Moseev, the vice president of ROAD (Russian Automobile Dealers Association) during a press conference "The collapse of the Russian car market: Who will go and who will stay?" that was held by NSN on April 9th.

Oleg Moseev noted that the situation on the market develops so as it was predicted - the market is going to fall steadily to 50%. During the first quarter of 2015, according to the AEB, it was sold less of cars by 36% (including light commercial vehicles) than the year before, and for March the decline was even more - 43%.

"April and May are the most difficult," - said the expert. Then it will depend on the macro economy. According to the vice-president ROAD if the current state keeps, then the consumer will reach the "point of addiction”. If the consumer feels more confident than now, he will start to buy durable goods, which include cars.

"Optimism is no special. It is about 1/3 of dealer networks under attack. How many of them will survive, and how much not – it is difficult to predict. There are many nuances. Theoretically, 1000 dealerships may close, about 100 thousand people could lose their jobs. Currently, this trend is visible. In Moscow there are empty salons, in the regions ...,"- said Oleg Moseev.
