UIA carried the Holy Flame from Israel to Kazakhstan
OREANDA-NEWS. Ukraine International Airlines carried the Holy Flame from Tel Aviv to Kiev. April 12, the cargo flew beyond to the cities of Kazakhstan – Astana and Almaty.
The Holy Flame was carried on UIA PS776 Tel Aviv – Kiev flight and arrived at Kiev Boryspil International airport April 11 at 4:45 p.m. local time. Placed into a special transparent container, the lampad with the Holy Flame arrived to Kiev perfectly safe. The precious cargo was then divided into two torches and sent further along the route on PS533 Kiev – Astana and PS537 Kiev – Almaty flights.
UIA carried the Holy Flame on FOC basis.
“It has already become a tradition for UIA to annually carry the Holy Flame from Israel to Kazakhstan, – noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary. – We regard each carriage to be a highly challenging and responsible assignment. We are very proud of having been given credence to deliver the Holy Flame to Orthodox Christians of Kazakhstan and thus providing them with an opportunity to light the candles from the Jerusalem flame”.
