OREANDA-NEWS. March sales of trucks weighing more than 3.5 tonnes halved - up to 4 thousand cars, according to the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT". At the same time, sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV segment up to 3.5 tonnes) decreased by 40% to 6,700 units, while passenger cars by 42% to 132 thousand units.

According to analysts, the commercial sector responds more strongly to the crisis situation in the Russian economy. "It still showed the results of 2014, when during the fall of the market of passenger cars by 10%, the LCV segment fell by 15% and freight sector fell by 20%. Earlier this year the trend continued”, - said the director of AUTOSTAT, Sergei Tselikov.

According to him, anti-crisis measures taken by the Government (the recycling program and preferential car loans), are more focus on passenger car market segment. Freight sector can b supported by the leasing subsidy program, but it has not started yet. In addition, the cargo market needs a revival of the real sector of the economy - construction, large-scale infrastructure projects, traffic growth. But it is not observed.

More from market statistics and light commercial trucks in March and for the first quarter of 2015 it can be found in the press releases.
