OREANDA-NEWS. Japanese company Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp (MFTBC) has suspended the production of trucks in Russia due to the reduction in demand and the devaluation of the ruble. Headquarter of MFTBC informed the agency "Tass", which noted that the company is not going to minimize power and fire employees.

"Prospects for the resumption of production have not been determined yet”, - said the representative of MFTBC. - However, we are not going to leave Russia, layoffs will not be. We will monitor the situation”.

Mitsubishi Fuso in Naberezhnye Chelny on the basis of a joint venture of its main shareholder, the German corporation Daimler AG, and the Russian KAMAZ in 2009 produced light trucks Canter. In 2011-2013 their production was 1,700 per year, but in 2014 it dropped by almost half - to 900 cars. Details for the screwdriver assembly came from Japan, from October of the last year; the company had to reduce the volume of deliveries. As a result, at the end of March, the production was stopped, and to date there are no plans to restart.
