OREANDA-NEWS. ConocoPhillips today announced in partnership with the Houston Astros, the Houston-area teachers selected for the inaugural ConocoPhillips Math Teacher of the Month program.

The program recognizes teachers for their commitment to go above and beyond to help students excel in the classroom. Every month during the baseball season, one of the winning teachers will be honored during an Astros game beginning Friday, April 17.

"We understand the importance and benefits of mathematics achievement for our Houston community and the critical role teachers play in the development and success of students in the classroom," said Ellen DeSanctis, vice president of Investor Relations and Communications. "That's why we are pleased to show our appreciation in a collaborative effort with the Houston Astros to honor Houston-area teachers who inspire our future leaders to soar, not only in mathematics, but in their overall lives."

Each winning teacher will receive awards from both ConocoPhillips and the Houston Astros, including a donation to their school district, gift card for the purchase of classroom supplies, Minute Maid Park tour and Astros game tickets.
