Mr. Daniel Gallagher, Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, paid a visit to Qatar Stock Exchange on Thursday 23rd of April 2015, during which he met with the CEO Mr. Rashid bin Ali Al-Mansoori and discussed the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of capital markets and exchanges industry.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed many topics of mutual intertest in global and regional securities industry, as well as areas of possible future cooperation and the areas where regional markets could learn from the recent experience of U.S. markets. They also discussed the regulatory environment post financial crisis and its impact on securities markets.

During the visit, Mr. Al-Mansoori gave a briefing on Qatar Stock Exchange and its evolution to become one of the leading stock markets in the region and an important financial center, attracting investors from around the world.  Mr. Al-Mansoori also briefed the guest on QSE plans with respect to the adoption of the world''''s best practices and the developmnet of the main market and Venture Market (dedicated to SME''''s), as well as the diversifiecation of investment instruments such as ETFs and corporate bonds.

Mr. Al-Mansoori expressed QSE keenness to strengthen cooperation with the U.S. exchanges and securie markets in order to achieve the common interests and enhance joint cooperation, stressing the desire of Qatar Stock Exchange to adopt the world''''s best practices and standards in order to serve investors whether in Qatar or abroad.
