OREANDA-NEWS. During the first three months of 2015 in the Republic of Belarus there were registered 16425 new cars in accordance with the report of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT". It is 2.3 times more than in the same period of the last year (7159 units).

The most popular brand in the neighboring republic was Hyundai - 2317 cars, which is 7 times more than in the same period of the last year (320 units). In second place Nissan - 2124 cars, the increase is 5 times. Renault is in the third place, registration of which increased by 160% to 2,056 vehicles. The top-10 also included Volkswagen (1878 units, + 128%), Kia (1615 units, + 137%), LADA (980 units, + 125%), Toyota (609 units, + 73%), Mazda (508 units, + 228%), Skoda (499 units, + 40%) and Chevrolet (377 units, + 14%).

"The bulk of vehicles at the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015 were imported by Belarusians from Russia, taking advantage of exchange rate differences and the lack of customs duties. In this case, the official Belarusian car dealers have received less serious sales,"- says the director of AUTOSTAT, Sergei Tselikov.

According to him, a record month in both Russia and Belarus was December of 2014. Over the last month of last year in Belarus there were registered more than 14 thousand cars. Therewith, the annual sales of authorized dealers in Belarus in 2014 were only 21,336 cars.
