OREANDA-NEWS. Schwabe Holding has prepared an innovative high-precision laser straightness deviation measuring device for serial production, which is ised in modern effective technologies of spatial monitoring and control of sophisticated big-sized objects at all stages of their manufacture, instalation, marking-out, assembly and operation.

The "Laser string" laser straightness deviation measuring device jas been created by S.I.Vavilov State Optical Institute, a Schwabe Holding's enterprise. on the basis of its own proprietary development. It consists of a laser former generating a high-stability annular beam of large extent (up to 100 metres) with clearly expressed round central spot, and of receivers comprising a sighting system and a digital camera.

Both devices are responsible for receiving the laser beam, conversion of the signal received and its transfer to the computation unit located in the computer. If the surface being measured has deviations from straightness them a shift of the eye-piece grid of the sighting system or the CCD array centre with respect to the image of the annular structure of the beam will be fixed on the monitor at the accuracy up to thousandth fractions of millimetre.

"The laser straightness deviation measuring device has successfully passed testing in the production conditions at enterprises in St. Petersburg and Volgodonsk. It has shown high precision characteristics retaining over the whole measument train", told Nickolai Rakovich, Schwabe JSC's deputy general director for R&D and inniovative development.

At present the "Laser string" device has no Russian analogues. As to the products of various foreign manufacturers with similar technical parameters, then the Holding's invention has a singificanr advantage in terms of the price and cost of maintenance servicing.

The high-precision straightness deviation measuring device allows to perform monitoring of the following: straightness and "twisting" of machine-tool guides; straightness and perpendicularity of the cutting tool travel of machine-tools of the machining centre module; straightness, coaxiality, perpendicularity of the stage rigging assemblies at the manufacture and installation of aircraft (aircraft manufacturing, missile manufacturing); planeness, perpendicularity, coaxiality of nuclear power engineering sets; relative layout of working cylinders of big-sized compressors, diesel engines, with respect to the shaft axis; straightness or planeness of turbine generators, verification rulers and plates; coaxiality of machine-tool spindles and their parts; curvature of the axis of large-extent shafts.

At present Schwabe is conducting negotiations with a number of Russian enterprises for the supply of "Laser string" innovative device.
