OREANDA-NEWS. Aon plc , the leading global provider of risk management, human resource consulting and outsourcing, announced it was honored as a 2015 InformationWeek Elite 100a list of the top business technology innovators in the U.S.

InformationWeek recognized Aon for developing and implementing a customized, big data, back-end technology solution which allows Aon to store large files and transform data more efficiently and securely using a massive parallel processing system. “With this innovation, we have established a strategic analytics platform to better serve clients while reducing costs,” said Steve Mildenhall, Global CEO of the Aon Center for Innovation and Analytics—Singapore.

According to Gartner, only 13 percent of companies reported having completed a big data solution to production in 2014. Adoption of this new solution was considered extremely innovative and uniquely positions Aon to better understand how our services operate and are used, as well as how we can drive improvements to enhance customer experience.

“With the adoption of a big data solution, we were able to dramatically reduce processing time; substantially lower storage and access costs; maintain required security, and support the firm’s strategy to create valuable insight through data and analytics,” said John Bruno, executive vice president, Enterprise Innovation and chief information officer, Aon. “We are honored to be included among the InformationWeek Elite 100.”
