OREANDA-NEWS. Government has taken cognizance of alleged irregularities in purchase of Tatra Trucks.Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered a case No. RC AC1 2012 A0004, dated 30.3.2012 against one of the owners and unknown officials of Tatra Sipox (UK), a UK based company, unknown officials of a Defence Public Sector Undertaking (M/s BEML Ltd.) and unknown officers of Ministry of Defence.  Now CBI has informed that investigation in RC AC1 2012 A0004 could not substantiate the levelled allegations and accordingly, a Closure Report has been filed in the Court of Special Judge, Patiala House, and New Delhi on 25.8.2014.

Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML Ltd.) has supplied 648 items / spares through its Physical Stock and indigenous development (2013-14 & 2014-15).

There is no ban on procurement from BEML.  Army can procure spare parts required for the Tatra Vehicles from BEML.

No orders were placed on M/s Tatra Sipox pending CBI investigation.  BEML has now been permitted to procure the aggregates, components and parts from New Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)-M/s Tatra Trucks a.s. Czech Republic to fulfil its supply orders of Tatra Vehicles to the Armed Forces and Defence Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) subject to certain conditions and all standard applicable rules and conditions.
