OREANDA-NEWS. Gazprom conducted a large-scale charity campaign a few days before the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Company allocated funds to support 65 Eternal Flame memorials in the hero-cities and cities of military glory, namely Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Tula, Kursk, Sevastopol, and others. In addition, Gazprom maintained the Eternal Flame memorial built with the support of veterans and local citizens in Chkalovsk town (Nizhny Novgorod Region).

Just like in the previous years, Gazprom Group's gas distribution companies made great efforts on maintenance and restoration of the Eternal Flame memorials in many Russian cities, towns and settlements. On the threshold of the Victory Day, 1,240 memorials were improved in 1,135 population centers of 56 Russian regions.

Some memorials were supplied with natural gas: pipelines were built and gas burners were placed inside eternal flame cauldrons. Thus, natural gas was connected to 16 memorials in the Bryansk Region on the eve of the Victory Day Anniversary.
