OREANDA-NEWS. Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg is negotiating about beginning of vehicle export to Egypt. Delegation from the African country has recently visited the production line.

Most probably, the Hyundai Solaris will be exported as the KIA Rio is already represented in the Egyptian market – this model is supplied by one of the Asian plants of the concern, General director of Auto-Dealer-SPb Mikhail Chaplygin says. Last year Hyundai became the most popular brand in the African country with about 20% of passenger car market in Egypt – that is about 40,000 vehicles.

In 2014 the share of export came up to11% of the total output of the enterprise (25,700 vehicles). The first place in export sales was taken by Kazakhstan, where 21,900 vehicles were supplied. The plant exported 14,300 Hyundai vehicles in 2014.
