OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding, supported by its foreign partners, released a new nigh sight for hunting weapons.

A pilot batch of night sights was developed by Vologda Optical and Mechanical Plant JSC (VOMZ JSC), a leading Shvabe Holding enterprise. The advantages of the new sighting device include, inter alia, a wide field of vision, a low weight, open micrometers of the adjustment mechanisms, on and off button, and additional accessories, such an infrared light, that can be attached to the sight body using a Weaver rail mount.

An important feature distinguishing the sight from similar sighting devices is its appearance: while its insides were developed by VOMZ JSC's workers, its outward design was developed by their American partners. Eventually, the sighting device acquired a more modern outlook, with its fair and smooth lines; it is fitted with two Weaver rail mounts; and in the future its body will be replaced with a plastic one to make the sight even lighter.

"That cooperation started with the fact that the Americans liked one of our night sights very much, being absolutely satisfied with its specifications. And they approached us with a proposal to develop jointly a sighting devices based on our sight. In particular, they were willing to change the sight design. So, they used our optical and electric components, changing the sight design to fit the tastes of US customers," said Vasily Morozov, VOMZ JSC's temporary General Director.

According our arrangement with the partner, the sight will be supplied to Russian and US markets.

Experts and visitors at the Hunting and Fishing - Spring 2015 Exhibition, held early in April in Minsk, were the first to have an opportunity to test the new sighting device; and its debut was successfull.
