OREANDA-NEWS. Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc. (President: Tsuyoshi Nagano, hereinafter “the Company”) announces that The Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Company (China) Limited (hereinafter “the Chinese Subsidiary”), a group member of the Company, will open its Zhejiang Branch on May 20 2015.

Since establishing the Chinese Subsidiary in November 2008, the Company has opened branches in Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Beijing as operational bases of the Chinese Subsidiary.

The Chinese Subsidiary has been given approval by China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) to start business operations in the entire area of Zhejiang province, and will open a Zhejiang branch, its fifth branch in China, on May 20, 2015.

Situated in the eastern part of China, Zhejiang province is one of the economic centers in the Yangtze River Delta economic zone. It has approximately 55 million people and generates CNY 4 trillion (approximately JPY 80 trillion) in GDP (the 4th largest GDP by province in China). A large number of foreign companies including Japanese companies, mainly in the manufacturing sector, operate in the province.

The Chinese Subsidiary has been underwriting multiple lines of insurance that meet customer needs and offering risk management services since its establishment. Through the opening of the Zhejiang branch, it will further focus on providing speedy service rooted in the local area.
