OREANDA-NEWS. "The Government offers that Parliament to give an opportunity for foreign armed forces to get to the territory of Ukraine in case such foreign units carry out peacekeeping and security operations basing on decisions of the UN or the European Union," stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a Government meeting on Wednesday, May 20.

The Head of Government appealed to the Ukrainian Parliament to amend the law “On the procedures of admission and conditions of stay of foreign military units in the territory of Ukraine”.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk added the Cabinet of Ministers, said would appeal to the President of Ukraine with a request to define the bill as urgent.

He reminded that the President of Ukraine and the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine initiated the introduction of peacekeeping forces on the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which are temporarily uncontrolled by the Ukrainian authorities.

"To ensure implementation of the Minsk accords and resumption of full control by the Ukrainian Government over the separate territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as to restore full control over the state border of Ukraine between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, we have turned to our western partners and the United Nations to consider an issue of deployment of such peacekeeping contingent," he said.

After the recent meetings of the President of Ukraine and Head of Government of Ukraine with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed “there is considered an issue to place the UN support office on the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, to ensure the implementation of the Minsk agreements and as fast as possible to withdraw Russian invaders and aggressors from the territory of Ukraine and to ensure peace and stability in Ukraine and in Europe."
