OREANDA-NEWS. Talanx has entered a record high of 528 staff for its team in the B2RUN company run on 26 May in Hannover. In 2014 the level of participation stood at 500. The "Team Talanx/HDI", made up of staff from D?sseldorf, Essen, Hannover, Hamburg, Hamelin, Kassel and Cologne and from the brands Hannover Re, HDI, HDI-Gerling, neue leben and PB insurers, has thereby secured its place as the second-largest team in the B2RUN corporate classification. Numerous friends, colleagues and family members will also be on hand to fire up the team around the course and on the finishing straight into the HDI Arena. As part of its efforts to promote workplace health Talanx fully supports the commitment shown by its employees who take part in the run, not least by paying all their registration fees. In addition, every member of staff receives a running vest.

"Running provides the perfect balance in an otherwise sedentary office lifestyle", explains Dr Christian Hinsch, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of Talanx AG and Chief Executive Officer of HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG. "I would like to wish our runners every success. But given that taking part is what really matters, the main thing is to enjoy the physical activity."

Indeed, active health management is part of the Talanx corporate philosophy. The company offers its staff a whole range of sporting opportunities throughout the year which it is continuously expanding. Along with in-house running groups, the possibilities range from individual sports such as tennis, badminton and cycling to team sports like football and volleyball as well as relaxation courses in yoga, qigong and pilates. These are very well received by employees as a counterbalance to their daily work routine. "Needs-oriented health promotion contributes not only to employee motivation and wellness but also to personnel retention and recruitment. Talanx is quite simply a dynamic Group – in every sense of the word", adds Dr Hinsch, whose area of Board responsibility includes human resources.

For Talanx, along with promoting health in the workplace, the company run is all about the shared experience and the dialogue between colleagues from different offices. As Dr Hinsch puts it: "It is really a special feeling for the Talanx/HDI team to run into an arena that bears one of the Group's brand names. This fosters identification with our organisation".
