OREANDA-NEWS. The Speaker of Slovakia’s National Council, Peter Pellegrini, met Huawei senior vice president, David Harmon, to discuss information and communications technology (ICT) and Huawei’s contribution to Slovakia’s innovation and ICT industry.

After visiting Huawei’s exhibition hall, Speaker Pellegrini said: “Huawei is the world's leading ICT company and we appreciate its support in local ICT development, which will stimulate the Slovakian economy and innovation, and improve local citizens’ lives. In particular, Slovakia will benefit from Huawei’s support in enhancing digital government and public utilities. I also hope Huawei can help with local talent development and training.”

David Harmon said: “Digitization is an engine of economic development across industry sectors. Huawei is glad to share its global experience and help Slovakia enhance its ICT development and build the local innovation-driven economy. In addition to our advisory work for the Slovakian government, we also look forward to training more local ICT talent. "

After the meeting, Huawei signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Zilina University aimed at strengthening cooperation in research and talent development.
