OREANDA-NEWS. Currently stability becomes the main criterion for bank selection. Tamara Savoshchenko, First Deputy Chairman of UniCredit Bank expressed this opinion during the interview to "50 Leading Banks" rating.

"The crisis and the large number of bankruptcies have forced depositors to change the banks selection criteria. Previously - and before the past the crisis and even after it - the main criterion was the high interest rates. This has been the only reason why people continued to deposit money in small nontransparent banks. Currently the main criterion is the stability of the bank. People are beginning to understand that the amount of income is not so important as a guaranteed opportunity to save and multiply money. Financial literacy is increasing after all. And the lessons learned from two crises make people use more balanced approach in choosing a credit institution. If we analyze the history of bankruptcy of Ukrainian banks, we will see that none of banks are belonging to an international financial group in this list. And our strategy of attracting and retaining customers is based on the stability of the bank, which is the part of UniCredit", - explains Mrs. Savoschenko.

In addition, the interview touched on such issues as banks’ activity during the crisis, protection of creditors’ rights and bad debts.
