OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2015. Huawei today announced that its FusionServer RH2288H V3 dual-socket rack server ranked first in the VMmark 2.5.2 virtualization benchmark test with a score of 26.67 @22 Tiles. The benchmark test measures and compares virtualization performance of different hardware platforms and evaluates multi-workload performance and scalability in the virtualization environment.

"The VMmark test record demonstrates the outstanding performance of Huawei’s FusionServer RH2288H V3 servers for various virtualization scenarios, especially for mission-critical application virtualization,” said Mr. Qiu Long, General Manager of Servers Domain, IT Product Line, Huawei. “Underlining our commitment to providing high-performance products and solutions through continuous innovation, Huawei’s server offerings have now achieved great, sustained momentum.”

A benchmark testing tool launched by VMware, the VMmark 2.5.2 test runs on the Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v3 series processor platform. For the test, Huawei used two RH2288H V3 dual-socket rack servers, each equipped with two 18-core Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v3 series processors. As a result, a total of 72 computing cores and 144 threads ran in the VMware ESXi 6.0 virtualization environment. The test results, which are measured based on tiles (one tile contains eight virtual machines), provide a reference for customers when choosing an appropriate virtualization hardware platform, with a higher score indicating higher VMware virtualization performance and faster virtual machine (VM) response speed.

The Huawei RH2288H V3 dual-socket rack server consists of a number of reliability, availability, serviceability (RAS) technologies to provide high reliability for large-scale and high-quality virtualization. It supports up to two high-performance processors for efficient computing, and provides a touchscreen management panel for easy system management. In addition, it enables high-capacity local storage to address substantial increases in data volume. The server also ensures high energy efficiency through intelligent fine-grained power control technologies.

According to Gartner's statistics, Huawei server shipments ranked fourth globally for six consecutive quarters as of the end of the first quarter of 2015
