OREANDA-NEWS. June 04, 2015. Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici met Carlo Arturo Garuzzo, the director of one of the most important companies producing renewable solar energy in Italy, Flyren.

During talks, the premier stressed that diversification of energy resources, increasing energy security and attracting investment, were extremely important for Moldova. "One of the government's priorities is to identify as many alternative sources as possible, so as not to depend on a single supplier. We are interested and willing to talk with potential investors in this area, "said Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici.

The sides also referred to the harmonisation of the legislation on energy. The prime minister said that the sector must be reformed and modernised, because the states’ energy security was one of the pillars of a viable security system for both the sectoral areas, and the country as a whole.

Chiril Gaburici also informed about cooperation with Romania in this field, specifying that a Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed in last May. The document envisages setting up the first interconnection of the electric networks between the two countries, on the Isaccea (Romania) - Vulcanesti – Chisinau southern route. Subsequently, a feasibility study will be carried out to start the second interconnection. Thus, Moldova will become even more attractive for investors willing to produce electricity from alternative sources, as the Flyren Company is.

Company Director Carlo Arturo Garuzzo said that Moldova was a country where there was room for investment in the field. "I saw that you have potential to develop this area. Moreover, this sector - renewable solar energy, is the country's future, "said Carlo Arturo Garuzzo.

The Flyren Company is a leader in renewable energy production in Italy. The main activity is production of solar energy, as well as the development of other renewable technologies, such as the ones based on hydro-power, bio-gas and biomass.
