OREANDA-NEWS. Supercar manufacturers, which have been staking on speed and design of their vehicles for a long time, are changing this concept now: more roomy crossovers and SUVs are planned to be launched in the market. Italian Lamborghini was one of the last in this group, Financial Times reports.

Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lotus, Maserati, Jaguar and Alfa Romeo have already announced the launch of their SUVs, although none of the models has gone on sale yet.  Lotus expects to sell up to 10,000 SUVs a year, while total sales of sport cars of this brand in the past financial year, which ended on 31 March, were a little more than 2,000 vehicles.

SUV is an advantageous choice for automakers, as its price will automatically be much higher. Moreover, it has enough space for expensive extra options and luxurious interior.
