OREANDA-NEWS. A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Dusan Bajatovic, Director General of state-owned Srbijagas took place today within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2015.

The parties addressed the current issues and the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The meeting looked at mid- and long-term gas supplies from Russia to Serbia and other European countries as well as at joint UGS projects in the Republic.

In 2014 Gazprom supplied Serbia with nearly 1.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

In 2013 a long-term contract was signed for Russian gas supply to Serbia in the amount of up to 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas annually for a period of 10 years.

The successful cooperation of the two countries within the gas storage sector, namely, as part of the Banatski Dvor UGS facility project in Serbia is essential for securing the stability of supplies to European countries. The UGS facility (Gazprom – 51 per cent, Srbijagas – 49 per cent) is one of the largest gas storages in Southeastern Europe. Its working gas capacity makes up 450 million cubic meters and maximum deliverability – 5 million cubic meters per day.
