OREANDA-NEWS. Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) announced today has donated $11,500 to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation via a directed donation from the United Way.

“We are so grateful to our community and donors like Wells Fargo and United Way for rallying behind the Alberta Children’s Hospital and supporting our vision to provide the best care possible for our kids,” said Meghan Kociuba, manager, Community Initiatives and Events at Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The Alberta Children’s Hospital opened in Calgary, Alberta in September 2006, becoming the first free-standing pediatric facility to be built in Canada in more than 20 years. It is used by patients from birth to age 18 from across Alberta, southeastern British Columbia and southwestern Saskatchewan as multi-disciplinary teams work together to promote healing through family centred care.

“Alberta Children’s Hospital provides a vital service to our community,” said Peter Borsos, relationship manager of the Wells Fargo Energy Group in Calgary. “I have personally seen the impact the hospital has had in the young lives of their patients, and I have seen the support they give to the families under their care. We thank Alberta Children’s Hospital and their tremendous work in helping build healthier futures for our children.”
