OREANDA-NEWS. The 5.2mn t/yr Soyo LNG export facility in Angola remains on track to restart in 2015, Chevron said today.

The commissioning process of the plant will start after August, when modifications to the pipe system will be completed.

The plant is expected to reach sustained production in 2016, the company said.

Operator Angola LNG said last month that the facility would produce first cargoes by the first quarter of 2016.

The liquefaction facility has been off line since April last year after a pipeline failure. It was operating below nameplate capacity even before the unplanned outage and produced only five cargoes last year. It loaded its first cargo in June 2013, a number of months behind schedule.

Chevron holds a 36.4pc share of Angola LNG, Angolan state-owned Sonangol has 22.8pc, Total, BP and Italy's Eni each have 13.6pc.
