OREANDA-NEWS. In the last two weeks, the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) hosted members of 100 Great Ideas, the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association and the Minority Chamber of Commerce at Miami International Airport for briefings regarding recent airport improvements.

Aside from providing an update on the County's leading economic engine, Gonzalez and the groups' leadership teams discussed how they may partner together on current and future projects at MIA. The meetings were part of MIA's Community Engagement series, an ongoing outreach effort aimed at strengthening the airport's ties to the local community.

"What I enjoy most about these community engagement meetings is the feedback we receive from airport users who live and work in our region," said MDAD Director Emilio T. Gonzalez. "Our goal is to find areas where we can work together to make them an integral part of MIA's success. I am encouraged to hear that many of their recommendations are in line with projects we are already planning to implement.
