OREANDA-NEWS. The crisis has made adjustments in consumer preferences in the auto market. So, in the summer months of 2015 the share of compact cars (Class "B") in the total car market volume rose to a record 42%. Recall that in 2013-2014, it was steady in the diapason 31-33%. The share of SUVs and crossovers (segment SUV) was reduced from 39% to 33%, and the golf class (segment "C") decreased from 17% to 12%. These data were presented by experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" in the new study, "Changing of consumer behavior in terms of crisis".

Analysts noted a significant increase of market share of such compact models as Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio, LADA Granta, Renault Logan, Skoda Rapid. In addition, with the start of the crisis Nissan launched the new budget brand Datsun and it brought to the Russian market two models of on-DO and mi-DO, built on the basis of LADA.

At the same time, prices for cars have increased significantly during the crisis, and the Russians have to buy cars more and more expensive. As previously reported the agency "AUTOSTAT", as of June of 2015 the weighted average price of new cars in Russia was 1,127,100 rubles (excluding actions and discounts). This is more by 11.4% than in June of 2014 (1001.8 thousand. Rub.) The weighted average price of the car in the premium segment increased by 32%, and in the mass segment - only by 6%.

According to the director of the agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergey Tselikov, car prices increased even more. "Such a slight increase in average prices (+ 11.4%) was associated with a change in the structure of demand. In the mass segment it is sold fewer of large and luxury cars, and there is a growing share of sales of compact cars. But in the premium segment the structure of demand has almost not changed. Wealthy consumers as bought expensive SUVs, sedans and sports cars, so they continue to do so, despite the crisis in the country", - comments Mr. Tselikov.
