OREANDA-NEWS. SSE will open Clyde Wind Farm to the public on Saturday 29 August when it hosts the first community information day at the site.

The family friendly event, which will run from 10am – 4pm, will include bus tours of the wind farm and provide information about the development of Clyde and construction of the Clyde Extension project which is underway to the North West of the existing site.

Pauline Allison, Community Liaison Manager for Clyde Extension, said: “SSE is delighted to be hosting our very first open day at Clyde wind farm and we look forward to welcoming local people to our event.

“For many, it may be the first time they have visited the Clyde operations building, or seen a turbine up close and we are pleased to be showcasing the hard work and investment that SSE has created locally.”

Bus tours of the site will run at set times throughout the day on a first come, first served basis starting from 10.30am onwards. A booking system is in operation to avoid disappointment on the day.

Tours will last around an hour each depending on the weather and sturdy footwear and warm clothing is advised. Refreshments and other activities will also be provided.
