OREANDA-NEWS. The governmental commission for Moldova's reintegration, headed by Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet.

The main issues discussed were focused on fortifying policies on the country's reintegration, developments in the Transnistrian conflict settlement, promotion of confidence building measures between the right and left banks of the Dniester, as well as the actions due to be carried out on the next period.

Strelet said that the goal of Moldova's reintegration was a priority of the government's action programme. "We must have a new vision and a new attitude, elaborate an action plan with concrete actions, due to be carried out to settle the Transnistrian conflict. It is important that the negotiations in the 5+2 format should not be symbolic, and we have to focus on concrete results. We should continue the reforms for modernising the country, so that the right bank of Dniester becomes attractive for the citizens from the left bank," Valeriu Strelet said.

The prime minister demanded that all state institutions assess the impact of the Transnistrian problem on the sectors they manage and develop sectoral visions of reintegration. "I rely on a responsible attitude on behalf of all the members of the Commission. Till the next meeting of the Commission, we must have elaborated am updated draft vision and a draft action plan on Moldova's reintegration," Strelet said. In this context, the participants in the meeting ruled to develop proposals to strengthen the government's institutional capacities in this field, currently represented by the Bureau for Reintegration.

The participants in the meeting also discussed the need to optimise measures of building confidence between the right and left banks of Dniester. They reiterated the necessity to boost the activity of the working group according to fields, which interacts with Transnistrian experts.

The governmental commission for Moldova's reintegration was set up in 2011. The last meeting of this commission took place in September 2013.
