OREANDA-NEWS. Unmanned KAMAZ is ready to enter the market two years earlier than it was planned, as the program of creation of artificial intelligence of vehicle goes ahead of schedule. The president of Cognitive Technologies company informed about it the agency “TASS” (it is involved in the development of unmanned KAMAZ), Olga Uskova.

"We have successfully completed the field tests of unmanned KAMAZ, in September we plan to present the car at the modernize council of the Russian President. According to our calculations, the unmanned KAMAZ will be ready by 2019; it will be required three years to amend in the legislation so that the vehicle can be used on public roads”, - said Ms.Uskova. - By 2023, we plan to work out the car for the serial assembly, it was presumed to do it before 2025".

According to Ms.Uskova, during the test at a closed landfill of Ministry Emergency in the Moscow Region the unmanned KAMAZ showed good results when driving up to 60 kilometers per hour - the car is able to move independently on a given route, surely read the signs, detects road users - pedestrians, cyclists, other vehicles, as well as animals. In addition, the car is moving clearly in the column, by keeping distance and circling obstacles.

As stated Ms.Uskova, now we have the task to achieve the same results as when driving up to 80 km per hour to start tests of KAMAZ on public roads. "Perhaps they will be held in Tatarstan", - she said. According to Ms.Uskova to move to the second stage of the tests the developers need to agree on a number of legal points and get permission from the government of the region.

The program to build unmanned KAMAZ fit completely into the previously defined estimation of 18 billion rubles. "The amount can be even adjusted downwards if we quickly get permission to test the vehicle in an urban environment, because we received the pre-orders from foreign customers", - explained the president of the company. The interest was shown by several international transport companies.
