OREANDA-NEWS. Ashwin Kumar (49) will become Deutsche Börse Group’s new Global Head of Product Development as of 1 September. In this newly created role, he will report as Managing Director directly to CEO Carsten Kengeter. The key tasks of this new function comprise of research for new products, product enhancements and product redesign along the value chain. He will be responsible to explore business opportunities by identifying demand from both sell-side and buy-side firms.

Ashwin Kumar was a founding partner of Meru Capital and worked for the hedge fund from 2009 until 2014. Previously, he was also a founding partner of Old Lane. Further work stations include major international sell-side banks like Bank of America, Commerzbank Securities, CS First Boston and Citibank in senior management positions. During his career, he gained significant experience in fixed-income (derivatives) trading, funds and portfolio management. Ashwin Kumar worked in New York initially and for the last 12 years in London. He graduated (MBA) from University of Chicago and Purdue University (BS in Industrial Management). He is UK passport holder with family roots in India. Ashwin Kumar has three children.
