OREANDA-NEWS. To expand business for corporate customers in Southeast Asia, KDDI will establish the KDDI Singapore Phnom Penh Branch (hereafter the Phnom Penh Branch) in Phnom Penh in the Kingdom of Cambodia (hereafter Cambodia) on October 1, 2015.

Cambodia has a real GDP growth rate of 7.4% [1], making it a country with a high economic growth rate, even amongst Southeast Asian countries. Also, in April 2015, the Southern Economic Corridor [2] was established creating an important highway that links Cambodia with Vietnam and Thailand which has dramatically improved the logistics network. Furthermore, through the proactive measures to attract foreign companies [3] that these countries are taking, it is expected that more and more companies will advance into the area to make it a new base of production thus increasing the need to use IT infrastructure and other services.

By establishing the Phnom Penh Branch, KDDI will provide factories and offices with Japanese-quality services from construction of IT infrastructure to maintenance and operation, thus contributing to the expansion of operations for customers advancing to Cambodia.

KDDI will continue strengthening its business provision system for corporate customers by establishing offices in each country along the Southern Economic Corridor. We will also continue globally expanding our communications business through Myanmar and Southeast Asia.

With the establishment of the Phnom Penh Branch, the KDDI Group has 107 locations in 28 regions and 63 cities overseas.
