OREANDA-NEWS. Ford recorded double-digit growth in Germany last month, fuelled by strong demand for its cars and commercial vehicles.

Overall, 16,164 new Ford cars were registered in Germany - an increase of 1,653 units, and 11.4 per cent more than in August 2014. In the same period, industry-wide new car sales cars rose 6.3 per cent to 226,464 units.

Among the strongest performers were Mondeo and the new Ford S-MAX, which achieved sales growth of 151.2 per cent and 107.1 per cent respectively compared to the same month in the previous year.

Ford’s commercial vehicle sales were equally impressive in August. While the industry recorded a downturn of 5.8 per cent, Ford achieved growth of 26.6 per cent.

“The month of August was very successful for both us and our dealers. We are meeting customer requirements and fulfilling their dreams with our cutting-edge vehicles,” said Wolfgang Kopplin, Director of Marketing and Sales at Ford-Werke GmbH.

“In doing so, we not only delight our customers with first-class technology and a complete range of assistance systems in all classes, we also win the hearts of aficionados of exclusive cars with our powerful ST models and the new Ford Mustang.”

Ford sold a total of 18,708 vehicles in Germany in August – an increase of 2,188 cars and commercial vehicles compared with the same month in 2014. Ford’s combined car and commercial vehicle registrations grew 13.2 per cent, giving Ford an overall market share of 7.6 per cent.
