OREANDA-NEWS. Ford sold 79,608 vehicles in China during August, a three percent decrease compared to August 2014. Year-to-date, sales surpassed 700,000, down one percent when compared to the same period last year.

Changan Ford Automobile (CAF), Ford’s passenger car joint venture, sold 59,651 vehicles in August, a one percent decrease compared to 2014. CAF sold 512,377 vehicles from January to August, steady compared to the same time last year.

Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), Ford’s commercial vehicle investment, sold 17,731 vehicles in August, a nine percent decrease compared to 2014. JMC sold 168,494 vehicles from January to August, steady compared to the same time last year.

In August, Ford and JMC celebrated the 20th anniversary of their partnership and saw the first new Ford Everest roll off the assembly line at the JMC Xiaolan Plant in Nanchang, China. With the production of the new Everest, Ford and JMC have expanded their relationship by entering into the SUV segment. With a pre-sale price ranging from RMB 269,800 to RMB 369,800, the new Everest is now available for pre-order through JMC’s Ford-brand network of dealers.
