OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has signed a new agreement with the Svyaznoy retail chain. The document extends cooperation between the two companies in new regions including Moscow.

After the launch of the Tele2 network in Moscow and Moscow Region, the operator’s SIMs will be available on the Svyaznoy network that counts around 500 stores in the region. In Svyaznoy, visitors may also be able to switch to Tele2 while retaining their phone number and top up their mobile account commission-free.

Besides, there will be around 50 branded zones in Svyaznoy stores in Moscow Region by the end of the year. Visitors may get acquainted with the operator’s tariffs and services, get advice of high-qualified specialists, customize their smartphones or any other mobile device.

Apart from cooperation in Moscow Region, the agreement implies active sales of the operator’s SIMs on the Svyaznoy network in 23 regions where Tele2 is launching its brand. These regions were earlier operated by Rostelecom’s mobile companies that joined Tele2 as a part of the deal on creating a new federal mobile operator.

Jere Calmes, Deputy CEO at Tele2:

“Tele2 has always been trying to be closer to its clients and developed its retail network so that stores would be located within a walking distance. Based on our strategy, we want that our potential clients had an opportunity to connect to the Tele2 network and get high-quality service where it’s convenient. That is why we are developing partnership with national retail chains. It is especially important now when the operator is actively launching 3G and 4G networks in the regions and preparing for the start of operations in Moscow. Moscow clients from Svyaznoy will soon get an opportunity to buy the Tele2 SIM cards together with the smartphone.”

Michael Touch, President at Svyaznoy retail chain:

“Svyaznoy has been a comfortable place for millions of clients where one can choose out of many gadgets and mobile tariffs. We are always seeking to provide our visitors with the widest choice. After the Moscow launch a range of our offers will become even larger. Cooperation in the regions shows that our partner’s products enjoy huge popularity and I am sure that Tele2 will win loyalty of Moscow public.”
