OREANDA-NEWS. Sberbank has completed a program unprecedented in scale to centralize the bank's IT systems. As a result the bank consolidated various technology platform infrastructure (more than 15,000 system installations) at all Regional Banks, centralized the database, and standardized and unified business processes. This was announced during a press conference by Vice-President and Chief IT Architect at Sberbank Andrey Khlyzov.

"The goal of the centralization program was to reduce the time it takes to bring banking products to market, create new quality conditions for the further centralization and unification of operations and business functions, and to reduce Sberbank's IT expenses. All of the goals have been accomplished," said Mr. Khlyzov. "It used to be that it took at least a week to launch some new product, now it takes a day. The NPV program cost about RUB 8 bln."

"The centralization program has significantly increased the quality of service we provide our clients," said Mr. Khlyzov. "Some of the program's main benefits for the bank are increased manageability and reliability of business processes, and the creation of conditions necessary for an advanced technological platform."

The program made it to the final of the IPMA International Project Excellence Award 2015 competition in the nomination for "Mega-Sized Projects", the results will be summed up at the end of September.
