OREANDA-NEWS. Colonial Pipeline today missed an expected restart of a gasoline and distillates pipeline moving US Gulf coast products into the New York Harbor market.

The company could not immediately comment on Line 4 but confirmed the pipeline did not resume operations as expected at 5am ET.

Colonial had originally planned to restore service on both Lines 3 and 4 yesterday at 6pm ET. The pipelines move products from Colonial's Greensboro, North Carolina, terminal into Linden, New Jersey. Line 4 stops short of the full trek in Dorsey, Maryland.

Movements across the line halted after a leak was discovered late Monday. Colonial has not commented on the cause of that release. The National Transportation Safety Board said yesterday that its investigators were on the scene of a 2,000 USG gasoline release into a stormwater retention pond near Centreville, Virginia, but also had few details.

Colonial brought Line 3 online as scheduled but yesterday delayed the Line 4 restart to 5am today. An update on new restart plans was expected shortly.
