OREANDA-NEWS. Talanx has been recognised by the Vocational Training Institute of the German Insurance Industry (Berufsbildungswerk der Versicherungswirtschaft) with an InnoWard 2015 for its project "TalApp – more than just training". The project claimed the second place in the "Initial Vocational Training" category. "TalApp is a Germany-wide in-house training network, developed independently by trainees for trainees", Dr. Christian Hinsch, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of Talanx AG and Labour Director, explained. "The award underscores the solid conceptual design and creative implementation achieved by our trainees. We are proud of our young colleagues."

The InnoWard was launched by the Berufsbildungswerk der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft to honour innovative concepts for training activities in the insurance industry as well as their effective practical implementation. The InnoWard 2015 prizes were handed out yesterday evening as part of the German Insurance Industry Training Congress in Berlin. This marked the eleventh time that the prizes had been awarded since 2005. For Talanx, it was already the sixth occasion on which the company had been singled out for an InnoWard in the "Initial Vocational Training" category. In total, twelve Talanx projects have been nominated since 2005, six of which took home an InnoWard.

"TalApp – more than just training" has its origins in a project spanning several months that was undertaken by trainees and students taking an integrated degree programme during their second year of training at the company's head office in Hannover. Their task was to develop a concept for the optimal integration of current information technologies into the training provided by the Talanx Group. A special focus here was on "Entrepreneurial mindset and action within the Group context", one of the four core Talanx Values. Going forward, it is envisaged that all trainees should be able to download the app and hence obtain all the information that they require for their entry into the company, during training and ultimately for the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) examination. This reflects the prevailing general trend in training activities away from traditional learning tools such as books towards e-book readers, online libraries and interactive learning. Information is exchanged through cloud-based solutions which users access exclusively via mobile apps.

The app contains numerous programs that are invaluable for training purposes. The calendar function is intended to ensure that all trainees are kept informed of important dates and events. The trainees can find out which of their colleagues is engaged in which activity at which office using the navigation function known as “company navi” ("Betriebsnavi"). All training information is stored and continuously updated, the exam trainer can be used by the Talanx trainees to review the current level of their knowledge, while information, documents and data can be shared via the chat feature.
