OREANDA-NEWS. Having got acquainted with advanced developments presented at RAE 2015, the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev highly appreciated the potential of the 10th International Weapons and Military Equipment Exhibition. In his speech at the Russia Arms Expo 2015 opening, he said:

- Such exhibitions are the largest and most successful sites for demonstration of Russian state-of-the-art military developments and always arouse great interest. This year the exhibition has already cut the record with respect to the number of participants. It is attended by delegations from over 60 countries of the world, that is, almost one third of the countries globally. There are representatives of over 160 largest national companies as well as international ones from such countries as Turkey, Korea, France, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and others. I am glad to welcome this impressive representative corps being a convincing proof of the interest towards our exhibition and weapons. I would like to highlight participation of a number of technological platforms. I am sure they can enhance scientific and information content of the Russian military and industrial complex.

The Prime Minister also mentioned a unique character of the facility where fire and service performance of the military equipment can be demonstrated and a multiple format of the exhibition that combines "business and information program and shows experts the latest achievements representing our country’s capacity to defense its boundaries as well as our partner countries’ ones". He expressed a profound gratitude for a warm welcome to the exhibition contractors, citizens of Nizhny Tagil and all persons engaged in the event hosting.

Accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin, the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Russian Presidential Envoy in the Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanskikh and the Governor of the the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev, Dmitri Medvedev attended the exhibition. The Chief Executive Officer of URALVAGONZAVOD Oleg Sienko told him about future-proof products of the corporation. The Prime Minister saw modernized BTR-80, Terminator and Terminator II fire support combat vehicles, Msta-S self-propelled howitzer and other products. He accorded special priority to the recent developments of URALVAGONZAVOD Corporation: two armored vehicles based on the the Armata Universal Combat Platform –Т-14 and Т-15 as well as the 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled gun. Dmitri Medvedev could appreciate the UVZ's equipment operation during demonstration test.

One of the centerpieces in the second exhibition day’s business program was the 2nd Military and Industrial Conference titled "Government Defense Novel Order: Interdepartmental Control System, Targeted Use of Funds and Banking Support". Dmitry Rogozin noticed that the State Defense Order 2015 was being implemented efficiently and highly competitive with 2014 as for the rates despite the manifestations of crisis. As of the 4th of September, the State Defense Order including weaponry, military and special equipment was placed by 94%, including for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation by 94.3%. Against the background of the complicated economic conditions, the defense and industrial complex was notable for dominant positions and volitional powers.

-At present, we face the following challenges within the defense and industrial complex: principally, consolidation in the domestic market due to the promotion of homemade products, global market representation owing to the military and technical cooperation, maintaining the second position in the weapons market, human resource enhancement, renewal of the domestic machine-tool industry, and enabling research and technology breakthrough. We have only one main task; we should solve the army re-weaponing problem. Everyone saw the state-of-the-art equipment on May 9, on the Red Square. So, we have fulfilled the promise given at the previous weapons exhibition and showed the most recent modernized military equipment at the anniversary parade. Now we have another challenge –to withstand hard times, cope with them honorably, take a start and strengthen the trend to further industrial development of the country,” Dmitry Rogozin noticed.
