OREANDA-NEWS. General Director of the Volkswagen Group was appointed Matthias MUller, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Porsche. In this post, the 62-year-old senior manager replaced Martin Winterkorn, who resigned on September 23 in connection with the "diesel scandal."

According to Motor.ru, Mr. MUller will combine work in two positions until Porsche does not appoint his successor. In addition, the top manager is a member of the Board of Directors of Volkswagen; the contract is valid until February 2020. In connection with the appointment, Mr. M?ller called his main task "the return of confidence of customers to the concern Volkswagen".

In addition, the company announced other personnel changes. Thus, a representative of office in the United States, Mexico and Canada will be merged into the North American division. From November this year, the direction will be led by Winfried Faland, the former chairman of the board of directors of the brand Skoda. Therewith, the post was kept by Michael Horn, the president and general director of the Volkswagen Group in the United States.

It was also announced about the merge into one special group of brands Bentley, Bugatti and Porsche. The group will develop modular components for sports cars and cars with a mid layout. Newly formed entity will be in close contact with the CEO of the concern. The group, which unites the brands Audi, Lamborghini and Ducati, as well as the division of freight transport and energy department, will continue to work under the old scheme.
