OREANDA-NEWS. Ford Lio Ho Taiwan recently held several media events to celebrate the launch of the bold and dynamic new Ford Focus. The two-day event, which included a press conference, gala night, and two waves of test drive, , was attended by more than 100 journalists from various media outlets.

The press conference took place at the National Golf Country Club in Miaoli County, about 145 kilometers south of Taipei. Key news drivers for the Focus were its all-new exterior and interior design, newly added 1.0L and 1.5L EcoBoost engines with 6-speed automatic transmission, class-leading driving dynamics and class-leading and class-exclusive smart technologies. The presentation that followed highlighted these features to show journalists that the new Focus has become more sophisticated, energized and progressive.

“The Ford Focus gives better fuel economy, outstanding value, and more advanced technology than any competitors in Taiwan,” said Thomas Fann, president, Ford Lio Ho. “It elevates the perception of the Focus nameplate even further and helps improve primary brand favorability.”

Media test drives featured both open road and blocked road sections. The open road drive allowed journalists to experience the class-leading driving dynamics offered by the upgraded powertrain, including new 1.0L and 1.5L EcoBoost engines, as well as the 1.6L Ti-VTC and 2.0 TDCi engines. It underscored the performance and fuel economy positioning of the Focus as the most fun-to-drive car in its segment and a leader in fuel economy and powertrain technologies.

The blocked road section showcased the class-leading smart technologies of the Focus, including Enhanced Active Park Assist, Park-Out Assist, Cross Traffic Alert, and Active City Stop. They represent a new benchmark in the mid-size car segment in Taiwan.
