OREANDA-NEWS. Transstroymekhanizatsiya (TSM), a Mostotrest subsidiary, won the open tender for the project “Reconstruction of the Sheremetyevo-1 - Sheremetyevo-2 road (Starosheremetevskoe Avenue)”. The project customer is the Moscow Region Road Construction Directorate, a government agency. Contract value: RUB2 billion (including VAT); maximum execution period: 21 months.

In accordance with the contract, TSM will carry out reconstruction of the Sheremetyevo-1 - Sheremetyevo-2 road, to Category 1 standards. As part of the project, TSM will broaden the 6 km long Starosheremetevskoye Avenue from one to two lanes in each direction. The project will require stripping of the entire road surface and laying new pavement on the entire projected width. Traffic speed on the reconstructed road will be 120 kmh. TSM will also build pedestrian crossings and rearrange existing utilities.

The road will not be closed to traffic, as reconstruction will be carried out on short segments, with traffic switching to new lanes as they are built.

The existing two-lane segment of Starosheremetevskoye Avenue begins at the exit to Mezhdunarodnoye Avenue and ends adjacently to Lenin Street, connecting Sheremetyevo-1 and Sheremetyevo-2 airport terminals and forming a semicircle around Sheremetyevo Airport on its east side. Traffic speed on the Sheremetyevo-1 - Sheremetyevo-2 road is currently limited to 60 kmh.
