OREANDA-NEWS. Renaissance Capital, a leading emerging and frontier markets investment bank, announces that Jon Oosthuyse has joined the Firm’s Johannesburg trading desk as Director/Senior Sales Trader. He will report to Cameron Macklin, Director, Equity Trading, in South Africa, and Mark Reed, Head of Sales Trading, Equities, in London.

Jon joins the Firm from BNP Paribas, where from 2012 he was Head of Sales & Trading, having spent nine years at Deutsche Bank prior to that, including as joint Head of Equity Sales Trading. He also worked at UBS and KPMG in 1997-2003 in various roles, including Sales Trading and Treasury Consulting. He holds Bachelor of Accountancy and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Jon is a CA (SA) and CFA charter-holder and a qualified member of the South African Institute of Stockbrokers.

In September, Renaissance Capital appointed Lloyd Edwards as Director/Senior Sales Trader in its Johannesburg office. Lloyd has 20 years of experience in various roles in the industry. Most recently, he co-founded and managed Atisa Securities in South Africa; in 2011-2013 he was Head of Trading at Worldwide Capital. Prior to that, Lloyd spent six years as Head of Trading at TFS Securities in 2004-2010.

Earlier this year, the Firm has hired Francois du Toit as an Insurance Analyst based in its Johannesburg office.
